Well, lately I've been quite sick with either a cold or H1N1, not sure which and I'd rather not know. =0 I missed the whole week of school because of it and also because my parents don't want me spreading my illness around. My school has been on the news because of so many people becoming sick. D: They say that if my school gets 10% of people with H1N1, they'll shut it down. D: So if I had H1N1, I'm glad I stayed home. c: This cold thing or whatever it is has pretty much everything in it like fevers and coughing and sore throats and the works. D: But I'm doing okay now. c: My nose still hasn't stopped running nor the coughing. =0 But I'm okay.

Still have a lot of art homework that I should be doing right now, but I wanted to write a journal and do other stuff. D: Hopefully when this first report card comes out I won't have to draw a realism sketch once a week, or maybe she'll at least change it from realism to something more interesting. D: I have to admit that it did somewhat help my usual type of drawing, since it feels like it's 'working' better now. c: I don't know though. xD

Well, people have told me that the homework level really jumps when you get into grade 10, but I didn't think it would jump this much. D: I'm in the -1 classes (which I'm finding is something special to Canada so I'll explain that there are three levels of classes: -1 being 'ure' or the higher level class, -2 being 'applied', -4 being the 'below' people. (I don't know where -3 is, I always thought it was -4 but looking at my book now it doesn't exist for some reason. xD I'm guessing it's prepping? xD )

So I'm in -1 classes and they all want their stuff done the next day and they're all demanding. =0 The -2 class got a whole week to do something I had to do in two days. D:< Oh well. We're just more awesome. :U

That 'draw something every Friday' takes a really long time. D: She says it HAS to be realism so it takes even longer. D: It has to be all shaded and finished (even though she calls it a sketch) by the next Friday, where you get to do another, and another, and another... D:

So I went back to school yesterday and it was very, very good.
My homeroom religion teacher is very nice and atarted out the first day with a game so that was good. ^-^ My social teacher is the funniest teacher I've ever had and when he was explaining Columbus' journey I coul actually remember what happened and all that. xD (I'm not very good at social so this is a good sign. c: )
After lunch I had art class. I had a teacher I wasn't sure would be very nice but she has the 'ower' to make people want to raise the bar for her, since some people think that they can slide through that class easily. >o> Too bad. D:< You actually have to be good at it this year. c:
Science is kind of scary. o.o The teacher sounds like she's always mad at us and we started working on the first day in her class. I still Like it, though.

Today was also awesome because no one in any of my classes are really picking on me. c: (So far, so good? xD ) And science was the most quietest class I've ever had. I really love being in the top notch classes! ^OOOO^



Also thought I would drop this for you guys to think about.
In social class, we were reading this article about natural ability and hardwork. Basically it said that there is no such thing as natural ability, but that hardwork is what makes people successful. They used examples such as the Beatles, Bill Gates, and the guy that made Java. (Can't remember his name, something with Joy in it. xD ) All of these people had the opportunity to do something, and they took it. Once they had that opportunity, they worked hard at it. The amount of time to work at something to achive mastery is estimated to be 10,000 hours. (This is 420 days guys =0 )

Looks like something to work for.
